Frequently asked questions

Is SecBird a password manager?

No — and we never ask for your passwords. A password manager holds your keys. SecBird is the auditor: it tracks whether your settings are healthy (two-step sign-in on, connected apps reviewed, data backed up), whether your terms changed, and whether your email appeared in a breach. Keep your password manager; we'll happily tell you which accounts should be in it.

Do you connect to my accounts?

No. We never ask you to hand over account access. You do the checks yourself with our step-by-step walkthroughs, and attest what you found. It's your audit — we're the clipboard.

What do you store about me?

As little as we can. The details live on What we store, but the short version: your email, your profile identifiers (encrypted), which services you follow, and your check history. No passwords, no account contents, no browsing data. Sensitive fields are encrypted at the field level — even our own database can't read them in plain text.

How do breach checks work without giving you my passwords?

Breach data is tied to email addresses. You add an address, we send a verification link to that address (so nobody can monitor an inbox they don't control), and then we check it against the Have I Been Pwned catalog — the same breach data security teams use.

Who is SecBird for?

Everyone with an online life — built to be usable by your kid and your grandmother. Plain language, one step per screen, no jargon without an explanation. Power users get depth (profiles, per-account scores, diffs); nobody needs it to start.

How do you make money?

Paid plans, eventually (see Pricing). Not ads, not selling data — our business model is you paying us, which keeps our incentives pointed at you.

Can I delete everything?

Yes — export or delete your data with one click, any plan, no email to support required. We audit others on this; we'd better pass it ourselves.

I found a security problem. Where do I report it?

Thank you! See our security policy — we acknowledge reports within 3 business days and offer safe harbor for good-faith research.
