Terms of service
Draft — effective at beta launch. Last updated: 7 July 2026.
The short version (TL;DR)
- SecBird helps you audit your own online accounts. Your data stays yours — we claim no rights over it beyond what's needed to show it back to you.
- Don't abuse the service (no unauthorized scanning of other people's identities, no breaking in, no resale of our data feeds).
- Free plan is free; paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel and export anytime.
- We give guidance, not guarantees: a good score improves your odds, it doesn't insure you.
- If we ever change these terms meaningfully, you'll get a plain-language summary and a diff before it takes effect.
The service
SecBird provides tools to track the security posture of your own online accounts: health checklists, a score, terms-change tracking, and breach monitoring for identities you control. You must be able to verify control of the email addresses you monitor.
Your account
Keep your credentials safe and your email current. You're responsible for activity under your account. You must be legally able to enter this agreement; minors need a parent or guardian's consent.
Acceptable use
Don't: monitor identities you don't control, probe or disrupt the service, scrape or resell our data feeds, or use the service to harm others. We may suspend accounts that do, and we'll explain why.
Your data
You own your data. You grant us only the license needed to operate the service (store, process, and display it back to you). Export and deletion are self-service — see the privacy policy.
Payment
Paid plans (when they launch) renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel anytime; access runs to the end of the paid period. Downgrading never deletes your data — extras become read-only.
No guarantees
We work hard to be accurate, but security is probabilistic: we provide information and guidance, not a warranty against breaches. The service is provided "as is"; to the extent the law allows, our liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Ending things
You can leave anytime: export, delete, done. We can terminate accounts for breach of these terms, with notice and a chance to export unless the breach makes that irresponsible.
Changes
Meaningful changes to these terms are announced in advance, in plain language, with a side-by-side comparison. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance.
